Larger than expected... By Nicole, Mother of 4, from Upper Marlboro MD This is a great toy. It has a lot of educational value and features that my children like. But, we all had to get over the initial disappointment with the size. On the site, it appears to be a handheld toy similar to a the size of a PDA. In fact, it is about the size of a mini laptop. The graphics leave a lot to be desired but, they like the toy anyway. Good buy.
She wanted a Laptop, but we got this. By Ryan, Father of 3, from Utah We got this instead of a learning laptop, because we thought this was more for her age group (9 years old). She was a little disappointed that it wasn't a laptop, but she really likes it. She likes playing the quiz games, entering and storing friends phone numbers, and using the alarm feature. It is kind of like a PDA for kids. If it was shaped like a laptop she would like it even more! We like it because it is more portable, and she likes taking it on road trips.
2 out of 3 wonderful! By Tina, Mother of 3 and Aunt of 3, from Jemison, Alabama I bought 3 of the datamax touch screens for an 11yr. old and two 9yr olds. Each has enjoyed their own. Although one system has a defect on the screen, she will not allow me to send it back. This speaks for it self.
Not as good as expected By Amy, Mother of 4 boys, from Boise I got this toy for my 9 year old son who is mildly autistic because he loves to learn facts about things. So far though he has not been interested in it at all. It seems to be a pretty good little gadget to help with school skills but the things on the screen are not real eye catching and it just seems to be a little boring.
My 7 year old likes it By Christina, Mother of 2 girls, from Missouri She likes it but it doesn't hold her attention very long. I was also dissapointed that it doesn't look like the pic. Different color and much larger than expected. Overall it is a good toy.
